Brave Girls is a South Korean girl group formed by Brave Brothers’ producer from Brave Entertainment in 2011. The group debuted as a five-member group with the single album The Difference that was released on April 7th, 2011. Brave Girls debuted by having five members, which were: Eunyoung, SeoA, Yejin, Yoojin, and Hyeran. Since 2014 they went on hiatus and returned in 2016 with seven members, Hyeran and Yoojin, who survived from the start. As well as Eunji, Hayun, Minyoung, Yujeong, and Yuna who replaced Eunyoung, Seoa, and Yejin.

Brave Girls debuted on April 7th, 2011. Brave Girls appeared as a cameo in the drama Protect the Boss, a drama from South Korean Local Channel, Seoul Broadcasting System (SBS). Eunyoung appeared in the KBS 100 Points out of 100 program and she won two medals (gold and bronze) at the event. They made their first stage appearance in Music Bank with “So Sexy” and “Do You Know.” Brave Brothers said that the song “Easily” was meant to be a tribute to Kim Gun-mo’s song “Excuse.” Hyeran is the first member of the girl group Brave Girls. At the end of 2011, Brave Girls got their first award in the Rookie of the Year category at the 19th Korea Culture Entertainment Awards.
Debut Era
Brave Girls is a girl group from South Korea formed by Brave Brothers which is under the management of Brave Entertainment. Now, there are six members in Brave Girls which are: Hyeran, Minyeong, Yoojung, Eunji, Yuna, and Hayoon. The group debuted on April 7th, 2011, with the single “The Difference.” They immediately released two music videos at once, which were “So Sexy” and “Do You Know” and made a stage debut on KBS’ Music Bank. Having been well-received by the netizens, Brave Girls eventually released their first mini-album titled Back to Da Future. The mini-album contained six songs including “Easily” feat. Skull (South Korean reggae singer). They first made a comeback on the stage of Music Bank. At the end of 2011, Brave Girls got their first award in the Rookie of the Year category at the 19th Korea Culture Entertainment Awards. On February 22nd, 2012, Brave Girls released their second album titled Re-Issue. On the same day, they held a showcase with guest stars Teen Top boy group. On this album, they rely on the song “Nowadays” as the title and first comeback on M! Countdown. A year later, they released their 3rd single “For You.” In February 2014, Brave Brother said that Brave Girls were preparing for their first studio album. However, until the end of 2014, the album had not yet been reported. There were rumors that the original members Eunyoung, SeoA, Yejin, Yoojin, and Hyeran left the label.
Member Formation Through Time
After being on hiatus for two years, finally, on February 16th, 2016, Brave Girls made a comeback with the song “Deepened” as well as introducing five new members and the return of two original members, which were Yoojin and Hyeran. While Eunyong, SeoA, and Yeji officially left Brave Girls. On January 13th, 2017, it was revealed that Yoojin left the group on the grounds that she wanted to focus on her studies, and Hyeran was temporarily on hiatus from the group due to problems with her health.
Hyeran and Yoojin Officially Left Brave Girls
Brave Girls must accept the fact that their two members, Hyeran and Yoojin, chose to leave. This sad news was delivered directly by their agency, Brave Entertainment. “Yoojin can decide whether she will remain a celebrity or return to her education after all this time. She has told us of her desire to move abroad and we chose to respect her decision.” As for Hyeran, the agency said that health was the main reason for her departure. “Hyeran’s health has been getting worse lately and we decided that she could no longer remain in the group. Brave Entertainment will prioritize her health and set her hiatus to an unspecified deadline.” Despite being left by two members, the agency hopes fans will continue to support the remaining members and also continue to support Hyeran and Yoojin. “We ask fans to continue supporting Yoojin and Hyeran’s activities in the future, as they have done their best as Brave Girls members,” the agency said. In its announcement, the agency also announced that Brave Girls will make a comeback with five members (Minyoung, Eunji, Yoona, Yoojung, and Hayoon), in the near future.
