In 2016, Akkineni was engaged to Shriya Bhupal, grand daughter of business tycoon G. V. Krishna Reddy. Their wedding was planned in 2017 but was later called off. He is a Telugu film actor who was born to the famous Indian actor Nagarjuna and Bengali and Irish decent actress Amala Mukherjee in San Jose, California. He made his acting debut when he was a one-year-old toddler, who leaves his home in the comedy film Sisindri (1995). His performance saw him get called up to play for the Telugu Warriors in the inaugural Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) in 2011.
