Boys Before Flowers
Boys Before Flowers or also famous as Boys over Flowers is one of the most favorite teen romance K-dramas ever! The story centers around F4, a popular group at the prestigious Shinhwa High School that consists of Goo Joon-pyo (Lee Min-ho), Yoon Ji-hoo (Kim Hyun-joong), So Yi-jeong (Kim Bum), and Song Woo-bin (Kim Joon). They are known as arrogant people with strong power as rich people. Initially, Goo Joon-pyo is annoyed with Geum Jan-di (Goo Hye-sun) who helped a student who got bullied by F4. As time went by, he started to fall for her. Meanwhile, Jan-di develops feelings for Yoon Ji-hoo since he was the only kind person in F4. Ji-ho wasn’t feeling the same way since he is madly in love with someone else. After spending more time together, Joon-pyo and Jan-di become even closer which also leads her to eventually falling in love with Joon-pyo.

Aside from She Was Pretty, Reply 1988 also has a historic love triangle! The story is set in 1988 when five childhood friends are living in the same neighborhood. They are Sung Duk-seon (Lee Hye-ri), Choi Taek (Park Bo-gum), Jung Pal (Ryu Jun-yeol), Seong Sun-woo (Go Kyung-pyo), and Ryu Dong-ryong (Lee Dong-hwi). Their friendship remains the same until they grow older, but things become awkward when Choi Taek and Jung Pal seem to have feelings for Duk-seon. Despite his cold personality, Jung Pal always takes care of Duk-seon even through little things. Outside of that, Choi Taek with his innocent appearance also is secretly in love with Duk-seon. Among this list, True Beauty might be the drama that has the most heartbreaking love triangle since it lifted the “second lead syndrome!” For its plot, True Beauty depicts the youthful life of Lim Ju-kyung (Moon Ga-young) who feels unconfident with her bare face. She starts to wear makeup to boost her self-esteem and meets with Lee Su-ho (Cha Eun-woo), a cold but kind guy, and as Han Seo-jun (Hwang In-yeop), a bad but adorable guy, in her new school. Lim Ju-kyung realizes her feelings for Lee Su-ho despite his cold personality at their first encounter. Once Su-ho gets to know Ju-kyung, he starts to feel the same way as her. On the other side, the viewers of True Beauty went through eternal heartbreak for Han Seo-jun since he experiences an unrequited love with Ju-kyung.
Start-Up
Another second lead syndrome euphoria, Start-Up divided the viewers into #TeamDosan and #TeamJipyeong since Seo Dal-mi becomes involved in a love triangle between those two! Start-Up tells the story of people who work in start-up companies. Seo Dal-mi (Bae Suzy) has a dream of becoming an entrepreneur like Steve Jobs and decides to enlist to the Sandbox company and Nam Do-san (Nam Joo-hyuk), the founder of Samsan Tech who struggles to run his business. Both of them met officially in Sandbox. Dal-mi mistook Do-san as his first love. Meanwhile, Do-san admires her hard work. Once the flame sparks between Dal-mi and Do-san, Han Ji-pyeong (Kim Seon-ho) who took the part of their mentor in Sandbox starts to feel something towards Dal-mi. With a gentle act, Ji-pyeong takes care of her even though he knows that Dal-mi only loves Do-san. That is everything about K-dramas with the love triangle concept!
