EXO’s Chanyeol
EXO-Ls must be very sad with the announcement of EXO’s Chanyeol‘s military enlistment. Yes, on March 29, 2021, he enlisted in the military and underwent four weeks of basic training, and he started serving as an active soldier afterward. SM Entertainment (EXO’s agency) also confirmed the news that Baekhyun has joined the military on May 6, 2021, the same day as his birthday. Previously, Baekhyun also announced the news during his Instagram Live broadcast. Due to his health concern, Baekhyun is serving as a public service worker instead of an active soldier. MONSTA X’s Shownu
On July 22, 2021, one of MONSTA X‘s members, Shownu, enlisted in the military! His departure was also accompanied by the other members which made it more meaningful. Previously, Shownu wrote a letter to Monbebe (MONSTA X’s fandom) stating that he would be joining the military in July 2021. Just like Baekhyun, Shownu is also serving as a public service worker due to his health condition, a dislocated shoulder, and his medical background after having surgery on his left eye. Pentagon’s Hui
Earlier than Chanyeol, Baekhyun, or Shownu, Pentagon’s Hui enlisted in the military on February 18, 2021! Through Pentagon’s official Twitter, Hui left a farewell post for the fans and promised the fans that he will come back as soon as possible in good health. Meanwhile, he entered Nonsan Army Recruit Training Center in South Chungcheong Province for basic training. Hui reportedly will be discharged in August 2022. VIXX’s Ravi

SHINee’s Taemin
The youngest SHINee member, Taemin, has finally joined military service. On May 31, 2021, Taemin enlisted in the military with such warm support from the other members! He also became the last SHINee member to join the military since Onew, Minho, and Key have been discharged since 2020. Meanwhile, Taemin will reportedly discharge in November 2022.
Jang Ki-yong
The My Roommate Is a Gumiho‘s actor Jang Ki-yong also joined the military this year. After the euphoria of his acting performance in the drama, the fans have to let him go to the military. It was announced that Jang Ki-yong enlisted as an active-duty soldier on August 23, 2021, after he finished the filming process of his upcoming drama Now, We Are Breaking Up.
